The Stormwater and Flooding Committee will hold a meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023
in the Bethany Beach Town Meeting Room,
214 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930.

AGENDA
- Call to Order
- Approval of the Agenda
- Update on status of beach replenishment – Per DNREC at Association of Coastal Towns recent meeting the contract has been awarded to Weeks Marine with a winter/spring timing and logistics as yet to be determined. DNREC has indicated that they will build up/import sand in order to open two boardwalk cross overs.
- Update on status of current town soil boring study.
- Update of Loop Canal dredging - Bethany is working with DNREC to schedule a limited dredging of the Loop Canal in conjunction with DNERC’s winter/spring planned dredging of the Assawoman Canal.
- Discussion of new Impervious Surfaces Ordinance Amendments 425-27 and 425-5 – and possible follow up “adjusted best practices” to conform with them. These adjusted practices should emphasize the importance of reducing street run off, nuisance flooding, the “Greening of Bethany Initiative”, and pollution.
- Discuss development of communications strategy and procedures to educate and inform citizens on flooding, drainage and pollution issues as well as ongoing town projects and plans.
- Discussion of new DelDot Route 1 initiative and how this may impact Bethany Beach.
- Discuss individual research of flood studies in other areas.
