1. What should someone do if they receive a parking ticket and paid by ParkMobile for the time the ticket was issued?

Proceed to the Police Department entrance at Town Hall, 214 Garfield Parkway, and provide the police dispatcher with proof of the ParkMobile payment including the start and end time paid for as well as the license plate number. The dispatcher will reduce the ticket to a warning with no fine. If someone is unable to provide this information in person, they may send the information to the parking department via email to parking@townofbethanybeach.com. This MUST be attended within 10 Calendar Days of ticket issuance.

2. What are the parking rates and when are they in effect?

Pay to park is in effect every day for all public parking from May 15 through September 15 according to posted hours. The rate is $3.00 per hour.

Yes

4. Are all-day or multi-day permits available?

One day ($30), three day ($90), and weekly permits ($210) are sold at the Police Station (214 Garfield Parkway) 24 hours per day during the parking enforcement season, May 15 through September 15. They are valid in any pay to park space except on Garfield Parkway. They are valid the day purchased for and until 10 A.M. of the next day

5. How do Pay Station tickets work with convertibles and motorcycles?

Convertible drivers should display the ticket receipt on the dashboard or on the side of the windshield where the windshield connects with the frame. A motorcyclist could place the ticket under the seat strap. Both motorcycle and convertible users are encouraged to write their license plate number on their receipt to minimize the chance of theft.

6. What happens if the Pay Station does not work?

Please reread the directions and try again. The most common reason the pay station does not work is because the user inserts and does not remove the credit card or the card is bent. Remove the card immediately after fully inserting. If after retrying, the machine does not work, please report the problem to 302-539-1000 or speak to any Parking Officer. If the unit will not work, customers may still park in the area by either using ParkMobile to pay by phone or purchasing a time receipt from another Pay Station.

7. Are people with handicap-tagged vehicles required to pay to park?

8. What is the appeal process for a parking summons?

Go to the Town of Bethany Beach website under E-Services/Online Bill Payment/Parking Ticket Fines and use the link to appeal. Support should be provided with the appeal along with the ticket number. The appeal may be subject to an appeal fee by the court. Appeals MUST be made within the 10 Calendar Day limit using the appeal website.

If this is the first time that you received a citation for Expired Time ONLY but have a paid parking receipt or paid ParkMobile session covering the time of the ticket, please send an email (including ticket number and any supporting documentation) within 10 Calendar days of the citation issue date to: parking@townofbethanybeach.com.

9. Can you receive a parking summons while you are paying at a Pay Station?

Parking Enforcement Officers will check the kiosk before issuing a parking summons. If a summons is inadvertently issued, the receipt can be used in court to dispute the citation. Customers are provided with five additional minutes of time on the parking receipt to allow time to return and place the receipt on the vehicle dashboard

10. Are seasonal parking permits available for purchase?

Seasonal Residential parking permits are available to owners of residential property within the incorporated town limits, and seasonal Business parking permits are available to owners of businesses in the downtown business area.

11. Where are Residential parking permits valid?

East - West streets with Residential Permits Required signs.

EXCEPTION FOR 2023 - Residential Parking Permits, with the BLUE left border will be allowed to be used to park in all of the beach end parking lots. Signage will be placed at the front of these beach lots.

12. Where are Business parking permits valid?

East - West streets west of Pennsylvania Avenue designated Resident/Business parking by permit.
