Memorial Day Service
Monday, May 25, 2015
The Town of Bethany Beach and officers and members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7234, will host a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 25, at 11am at the Bethany Beach boardwalk bandstand.
The day will start with a welcome by Bethany Beach Mayor Jack Gordon, followed by the presentation of colors by the VFW 7234 Honor Guard. Local singer and artist Jennifer Carter, VFW Department of Delaware Soloist, will sing the national anthem, as well as some other song selections during the service. State Senator Gerald Hocker and State Representative Ronald Gray will speak at the ceremony.
The guest speaker will be Mr. Robert P Corsa, President, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1105
Commissioner, Delaware Commission of Veteran Affairs
The service will close with the volley by the Honor Guard of VFW Post 7234, the playing of “Taps” by a bugler from VFW Post 7234 and Jennifer Carter’s rendition of “God Bless America,” with which the audience can sing along.
