Bethany Beach Nature Center is located on the north side of Route 26 next to Grotto Pizza. Some great activities at the Nature Center include: trails, an interactive center, and a kiddie park.
Local wildlife photographer Elaine W. Rifkin shared her pictures as well as her knowledge of both photography and nature with participants at a workshop at the Bethany Beach Nature Center on Sunday, December 6. Her presentation conveyed her obvious love of the wetlands and wildlife around her home on Little Assawoman Bay. This love and appreciation are demonstrated in the pictures she patiently took over a seven-year period and published in her book entitled Staying Home: Bay to Shore Discoveries. The experience led to a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the interdependence of the organisms of the inland bays and her commitment to maintaining healthy wetlands. Elaine shared her knowledge of photography and talked about and answered questions regarding proper exposure, lens and composition.
