Summer Exercise Classes
The 2016 summer exercise schedule offers something for everyone – relaxing yoga, challenging cardio/strength training, and fun ballet basics. Classes begin Memorial Day weekend and are held on the bandstand or the beach off Garfield Parkway. Take as many as you’d like. Rates are per person, per class. See below for specific locations, dates, and times.
Yoga - Daily on the Bandstand: 6 - 7 am; $10 per person
This is the 14th year that RYT Certified Teachers and Bethany Beach Yoga Center Directors, Georgette Rhoads and Pat Wood, have been teaching this class on the bandstand

Participants welcome the new day with asanas and flowing movement or Sun Salutations. Limited mats available, please bring your own, if possible.
Classes begin Friday, May 27th and will be on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday including holidays - Memorial, Independence, and Labor Day - through September 12th. Tuesdays and Wednesdays will begin on June 30th and finish September 2nd.
No classes on Thursdays due to bandstand cleaning.
Sunday Yoga on the Beach: 8 - 9 am; donation optional

The two teachers are Yoga Alliance Certified teachers and Bethany Beach residents who work year round at DimitraYOGA. For 5 years, they successfully held Yoga in the Park in Lewes and Yoga on the Beach in Lewes and Rehoboth, raising $500 - $5,000 for local non-profits. Last year was their first time holding classes in Bethany. Donations went to three local families in need.
Classes run Sundays in June (5,12,19,26), July (3,10,17,24, 31), and August (7,14,21,28). Classes are open to all fitness levels. Bring a mat or towel.
Bootcamp on the Beach: Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, 8 - 9 am; $10 per person
Back by popular demand, this is the second year this program is being offered in Bethany Beach. The instructor is Trevor Hurd, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and owner of Coastal Athlete, 97 Garfield Pkwy. The class is for men, women, boys and girls, ages 12 years and up. The workout allows participants to challenge themselves and work as a fitness team. It offers a combination of body weight training, calisthenics, speed and agility training, core training, functional strength training, and flexibility work. No weights or equipment, just hard work and sweat. Classes start Memorial Day, May 30th.

Pilates on the Beach: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 8 - 9 am; $15 per person
This class has become a staple for Kelly Roberts, BASI Certified Pilates Instructor and owner of Beach Pilates & Wellness Studio of South Bethany. Participants overlook the ocean while they build a stronger body, develop long lean muscles, increase core strength, and improve overall health and well-being. The class also offers benefits for chronic pain and illness, osteoporosis, prenatal/postnatal, and golfers.
Barre - New for 2016: 1st Mondays on the Beach, 7 - 8 am; $15 per person
Taught by Kelly Roberts of Beach Pilates and Wellness, this class uses a portable ballet barre to build long lean muscles, tone legs and bottom, build core strength, and gain flexibility and balance while focusing on posture and form.
Class takes place on the beach on the first Monday of the month as follows:
May 30th, June 6th, July 4th, August 1st, September 5th.
