The Bethany Beach Town Council will meet on January 19th at 5 PM to review plans and hear public comment regarding the creation of a 5 foot wide pedestrian pathway, in the public right of way, on the south side of Collins Street, from Half Moon Drive to Kent Avenue.

The Town Council is considering the construction of this pathway to create a safer environment for the many pedestrians that use Collins Street as they travel to and from the beach, boardwalk and downtown Bethany Beach.

At the meeting on the 18th of January the Town Council and interested citizens will be briefed on the proposed project by the Town’s engineer. After this briefing the Council and citizens will have an opportunity to ask the engineer questions and the Council will hear public comment on this proposed enhancement. The Town Council will make no decision regarding the project at this meeting.

The Town Council will subsequently decide whether or not to approve the project at its next regularly scheduled Town Council meeting on February 15th at 2 PM.

The proposed project will only affect the right of way on the south side of Collins Street and will have no impact on the north side of the street.
