The objective of the Bethany Beach Parking Department is to insure safe, legal, and full utilization of all parking spaces within town limits. Clear marking of spaces and adequate signage is designed to provide the public with parking directions without overburdening the area with excessive materials that detract from the beauty of the environment. Enforcement of regulations is a necessary adjunct to order within the community. All ordinances are based on Delaware Criminal and Traffic Laws. Pay Stations are located through-out town in two zones. Garfield Parkway restricts parking to a two-hour limit, which can be extended with a new Pay Station receipt. The Beach Lots and other streets allow all-day parking.

The majority of east/west streets do not contain meters and are designed for Residential and Business Permit parking in which the vehicle must display the current season’s permit. Each street is marked with the time requirements for presentation of the Residential or Business Permit.

The Parking Supervisor is responsible for the planning and enforcement of Town ordinances, based on direction from the Town Manager. Enforcement Parking Officers are empowered to issue summonses for all parking violations.
